In British Columbia a regulatory instrument may be necessary to satisfy requirements imposed by local government on properties prior to sale, redevelopment, decommissioning, rezoning, or demolition. A regulatory instrument may include one or more of the following:

·        Certificate of Compliance (CoC)

·        Approval in Principle (AiP)

·        Determination
